History and features of  Ribolla Gialla

Ribolla Gialla is an autochthonous vine of Friuli Venezia Giulia, a very ancient Friulian variety of which we have about its breeding already in the fourteenth century. Ribolla Gialla production is concentrated on the Eastern Hills of Friuli, which extend from the province of Udine to the Collio, north of Gorizia, almost on the border with Slovenia. Here the soil consists of marl and sandstone with an important clay component; the climate is quite temperate, allowing a good temperature range between day and night, so dear to white wines. With these pedoclimatic conditions, Ribolla Gialla expresses its organoleptic characteristics to the best, so much so that they can be defined as unique.
