History and features of Pinot Grigio

It is a very complex variety of vines, requiring particular attention to both cultivation and production in habitats where the climate is cold and the soil compatible. The regions suitable for this type of vine are Friuli Venezia Giulia and in particular in Collio and in the Colli Orientali del Friuli, Trentino Alto Adige, Veneto and Lombardy. The taste of Pinot Grigio differs according to the production area. In places with a constant and cold climate there will be a wine with an excellent body and structure and a velvety and soft flavor, if instead the place is characterized by considerable temperature variations the Pinot Grigio will have a fruity flavor and a strong body. The Pinot Grigio can also have a different color, depending on the winemaking techniques. In contact with the skins it has a coppery color, while without a wine with lighter and clearer tones.
