Uis NerisDenis Montanar

Denis Montanar comes from a family of farmers for four generations. His commitment in this sector began in 1989, when he began to take care of his grandfather's company by renting his vineyards. A large part of these vineyards had already been cultivated as sharecropping by his great-grandfather during the early twentieth century. Subsequently, he bought two hectares of land, planting them in the vineyard. In 1995 he decided to increase the ownership, acquiring 10.5 hectares of land and the attached rural houses. The idea of the project and of the territorial brand deriving from the ancient name of the village was born: Borc Dodon (in Friulian).
Some hectares of the property are destined to the production of ancient varieties of wheat, maize and buckwheat for the production of flour, and in rotation happens the cultivation of alfalfa for organic fertilizers and sunflowers for food oil.
The cultivation is a biological management since 1996 for vineyards and since 2000 for arable land.
The wines produced in the bottle are Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso, Uis Neris, Uis Blancis, Verduzzo Friulano, Il Friulano, Rosè of Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso and Merlot.
The wines ferment with natural yeasts, they are not clarified, the grapes are harvested by hand.
Denis Montanar adheres to the protocol of the Renaissance du Terroir which provides a precise program of production and winemaking.
